Christmas 2007

  • Listening to: annoying x-mas music...EVERYWHERE!!

I did a couple of things this year in anticipation of X-mas:

I managed to get all my shopping done a full month ahead of the holiday. Jewelry for one grandmother and a great aunt, for Dad a Clint Eastwood movie named "Kelly's Heroes" (the one slightly comedic take on WW2 I can think of =P ), for Mom some scented oil-sticks, a jewelry box and a scarf-glove bag for my other grandmother, and some "joke" gifts for my sister (including a bag of chocolate 'whale poop' :P ). I also got a few things for my roomies and another friend in California...but I'll never tell ;)

The annoying part was getting them shipped - it wasn't until Thursday that I could finally pay for sending them! I hate cutting things less than 2 weeks for shipping when it comes to the holiday...and more exactly....MASS SHIPPING SEASON. At least that's taken care of now...

An old friend sadly departed from me: my pet newt, Magma. :mourn: He was about 15 years old - a methusalah for the average aquarium resident. His body I cremated in a small fire and I took the ashes to a picturesque bay adjoining the stream and ocean. He was a good friend all these years and had been the one part of my old life I took with me when I moved away from my parents.

That's what's up for now...more journals to come.
